Installation

NoteStudio 2.0.7 can be installed straight over the top of any 2.0.x version.

As a safety precaution, we recommend backing up your library first.

From the library panel, select 'Tools/Plugins/Backup Library'. Select a directory.

As a double-precaution, also back-up your

{palm directory}/username/notestudio directory.

Typically, if your name is Fred Bloggs, this will be at:

C:\Program Files\Palm\BloggsF\notestudio

or

C:\Program Files\Sony Handheld\FredB\notestudio

or something similar.

It is assumed by now that all users have upgraded from version 1. If this is not the case, please follow the upgrade instructions at Release 2-0-0 first.

What's new in 2.0.7?

PC

• View page in browser on PC, by using F11
• If you go into edit mode on the PC, but don't alter the text, it doesn't effect syncing.
• Slightly different XML output, allowing better HTML creation when run through XSLT.
• hooks work better importing python sub modules, eg os.path
• Automatic backup script
• PC can deal with sync while it is open
• Fixed going from 1 encrypted book to another via a link
• Insert bold etc on PC
• Can select text, and insert bullet/number lists will effect each line
• The title bar gets updated when traversing a link to another book.
• Searching works from the library view
• Panel layout is remembered between different NS runs
• Fixed some menu enable/disable problems
• Fixed renaming a page in an encrypted book

Palm

• Palm uses less memory
• Fixed bug with extra newline after horizontal lines on Palm
• Italics displayed in grey on palm if the display font is the same as the italic font
• Fixed bug on Palm with clicking at start of a line
• Palm find more robust
• Dialogs on the Palm (eg Create new page) allow for scrolling
• All shortcuts work on the Treo 600
• Forward links accessible from the menu
• Link based dialogs on the Palm allow for incremental search
• On a treo, the link dialog has Up and down moving the selection up one and down
• Fonts are consistent between Palm NS and Palm Help
• When links are clicked, there is a visual indication on color Palms
• Pressing on a link for a second on the Palm will show backLinks for that link

General

• Merge conflicts show the bookname in the HotSync log
• Fixed bug with Hard reset on the Palm possibly corrupting data
• Consistent case insensitive search on Palm and PC
• Conduit will actually delete the db files on the PC, if the book has been deleted
• Back links display the text right after the link
