Note Studio

FAQ

How do I restore an individual book from a backup?

  1. Identify the location of the collection which contains the book, by going to 'Edit Collection Properties' in the menu, and looking at the location for the collection.
  2. Make sure Note Studio is shut down.
  3. Go into your backup directory, where you'll find a directory with a datestamp for each backup you've done. Select the date you want to restore from.
  4. Open the zip file representing the collection containing the book you want to restore.
  5. Unzip the file to a temporary directory.
  6. This directory will contain a separate directory for each book. To find the correct book, look at the file called '_IntrinsicProperties.txt'. The third line will be the book's name.
  7. When you've found the correct directory, use it to overwrite the corresponding directory in your actual collection directory.
  8. Run Note Studio, and check that the book looks correct.
  9. Do a one-way synch (Desktop overwrites Handheld).
